Our training and development strategy is designed to meet the needs of the business whilst ensuring each and every employee’s potential is realised and encouraging great team spirit.

Here’s a sample of what to expect at Elite Hotels:

  • Full hotel and departmental induction.
  • Relevant statutory training.
  • Regular “on the job” training.
  • Regular reviews of your training with your line manager, to ensure it meets the needs of the business and your development requirements.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT COURSES

Each hotel runs a wide variety of training and development activities and programmes.

Programmes include:

APPRENTICESHIPS

Elite Hotels are a proud supporter of apprenticeships and employ many apprentices across the organisation. A key objective is to recruit and retain the very best talent to maintain a constantly high guest experience whilst ensuring every employee understands how important they are to us.

Apprenticeships are an asset to any organisation and bring significant benefits to our business and existing workforce and are an organic way to ‘grow our own’. The apprentice’s learning takes place both at work and through their studies. This provides a real understanding of the working world, combining practical skills with theoretical knowledge.
All of our hotels have strong links to local schools, training providers and colleges, for example, we are currently partnered with Bournemouth and Poole College offering a specialist chefs course which is internationally recognised.  

SUPERVISORY ACADEMY 
The company operates a Supervisory Academy which develops aspiring leaders on a 12 month programme with a formally accredited qualification at the end.  

 

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE PROGRAMME

Our Management Trainee Programme is designed to encourage motivated and enthusiastic hospitality individuals to develop into first-class members of our management team.
Lasting for approximately 22 months, (with a new intake every year,) this programme gives successful applicants experience in working across all departments, gaining essential skills and experience, whilst sampling the grandeur and high standards of each of our hotels.

In successfully completing this challenging programme, our expectation is that you will be ready to assume a management role within the company. 
 

ELITE GUEST EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME 
‘The Elite Experience’ is our customer care programme which all new starters are invited to attend. It gives you the opportunity to either stay overnight or experience an element of the hotel, such as a meal or spa treatment. The feedback is always positive and putting you in the guest’s shoes really makes a difference and helps improve customer service!

MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME  
The Management Excellence and Leadership (MEL) programme has been successfully running for over 10 years. The Management programme has a range of modules from ‘Managing Myself and My Team’, ‘Financial Awareness’ to ‘Savvy Conversations’, all aimed at developing our employees.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

We are very happy to offer work experience placements in various departments, across the group. Our work experience is recognised as excellent by the Springboard Charity who has awarded our Hotels with Inspire Accreditation. When you join us on work experience you are treated as part of the team and we are here to help support your learning and development during the time you will spend with us.
