Assistant Restaurant Manager at Wernher Restaurant

Robyn Hartas is the Assistant Restaurant Manager at the Wenher Restraunt at Luton Hoo Hotel, having spent the last 22 months on the Elite Trainee Management programme. 

Robyn Hartas, 25, has worked in the hospitality industry since the age of 14, doing everything from Fish & Chip takeaway to 2 Star Michelin restaurants and everything in-between. 
She loves that the industry gives her the chance to create memories that guests will treasure forever as well as the unpredictable day to day nature of the job, meaning no two days are the same. She knew that working behind a desk and not having daily interaction with people was not for her.
Having spent the last 22 months on the Elite Trainee Management programme, she has just started her new role as Assistant Restaurant Manager in the 2 Rosette Wernher Restaurant. 
The elite trainee management programme is a structured 22 month programme, where staff experience all aspects of the hospitality industry. Robyn chose to do this programme as the next step of her career as she previously had only restaurant experience. 
Robyn commented: “From previous experience I have always found that the best managers are those who have a clear grounding in all aspects of the industry they work in, meaning that they can jump in and help where ever needed. The programme has allowed me to experience the diverse departments within the hospitality industry from food and beverage to rooms and events. The programme was done across the 4 Elite hotels, which are all 4 or 5 star hotels across the south of England.”
Through this experience she has discovered that her heart still lies with the restaurant side of the business but that a career change in the future may lead her into reservations or Human Resources.
Robyn couldn’t imagine herself working in any other industry and feels that there is an undue stigma attached to people who work within the hospitality industry, stating: “Yes its hard work, but it’s so rewarding that it makes it worth the while in the end. I have met amazing people, from across the world who are close friends. No other industry has the same amount of diversity both in terms of people and roles.”
Her five year plan is to become a Restaurant Manager and from there a Food & Beverage Manager.
